Road Weather Monitoring Service and Monitoring Station Maintenance
Swindon Borough Council invites expressions of interest from suitably qualified and experienced service providers for the provision of a remotely monitored Road Weather Monitoring service, to include bi-annual calibration and maintenance of the two existing weather monitoring stations which are fitted with Findlay Irvine supplied equipment.
The system will be used to monitor the following:
i. Road depth temperature
ii. Road surface temperature
iii. Air temperature
iv. Relative humidity
v. Precipitation
vi. Wind speed
vii. Wind direction
viii. Surface state
ix. Web camera images
The Council is looking to appoint a Contractor to:
1. Provide and support a monitoring service, including the provision of GRPS communications for the two weather monitoring stations,
2. Carry out annual pre-winter and mid-winter calibration and maintenance at each weather station,
3. Carry out repairs and upgrades where required.
The initial contract term will be for 60 months for a potential total contract term of 5 years as stated in the ITT documents. Estimated contract spend is between £100,000 and £125,000 across the initial 5 year contract term.
