Any interested supplier may submit a tender in response to an opportunity notice. Contract is suitable for SMEs?Yes Contract is suitable for VCSEs?No DescriptionThe Borough Council of Calderdale invites suppliers to submit a quotation for a review of Calderdale Council's Land Management Model Services. Calderdale Council holds responsibility for approximately 1,000 separate parcels of land/assets, which amounts to approximately 1,260 hectares. The smallest piece of land is a bus shelter site, the largest a 94 hectare moor, and the land parcels include quarries, woodlands and a campsite. The management responsibility for land owned by the council currently rests with around 20 individual council services. Individual services regularly receive complaints and enquiries about land that they own (whether this be fly tipping, litter, overgrown vegetation or general lack of maintenance). Services often receive enquiries which they may not have the expertise to advise on and for which they need to obtain specialist advice. Trees have been a particular issue, and the arrival of Ash Dieback has heightened concerns regarding the management of land and the council has already removed trees which have succumbed to the disease. The current model of management therefore presents many challenges and risks, and has been in operation for many years. The council would therefore like to review and improve the way in which it currently manages its land to optimise its approach, and so reduce risk and cost. Please see the full requirements and background as detailed in the Invitation to Quotation document. More information
