Description
Birmingham City Council invited a quotation for Supply, Installation and Maintenance of Traffic Counting Devices no later than 12:00pm, on 5th March 2025.
Introduction
The Council requires a supplier for the provision of traffic counting devices capable of providing classified counts and speeds for vehicles, as well as counts for pedestrians and cyclists, to monitor and analyse traffic flow at key locations within the city as part of the City Region Sustainable Transport Settlements (CRSTS) programme. The service should include maintenance for a period of 5 years.
This contract will be for a period of 5 years with the option to extend for a further 4 years for maintenance based on performance and the availability of funding. The contract is expected to commence on 1st April 2025 until 30th March 2030.
Requirements/Specification
The detailed requirements are as follows:
1. Supply of Devices:
- Provide traffic counting devices capable of accurately recording vehicle counts, classifications (e.g., cars, trucks, buses), speeds and counts for pedestrians and cyclists.
- Devices should be weather-resistant and suitable for outdoor installation.
- At least one device should be provided at each location, however the supplier will need to advise how many devices are required per location based on the range of their own devices.
