The Parish Council wishes to employ a Principal Contractor to carry out the supply and installation of new play equipment and safety surfacing, to include the removal of defunct items of play equipment and their fixings.
The project includes the removal of existing, supply and installation of new play equipment, safety surfacing, and associated groundworks. Procurement will be subject to grant approval of the project. We will assess tenders received on a Most Economically Advantageous Tender basis.

Scope of works:
1) Remove existing defunct equipment
a. Dismantle and remove defunct play equipment
b. Safe and environmentally responsible disposal of old equipment
c. Site clearance and preparation for installation of new equipment
2) New play equipment supply and installation
a. Provision of a range of durable and exciting play equipment for
children aged 5 - 14 years old.
b. Installation of equipment, ensuring compliance with British
Standards BS EN 1176 and BS EN 1177).
c. It is important that equipment should have ample inclusive
access
d. Installation of suitable safety surfacing, such as rubber mulch, wet pour, or another impact absorbing surface.
3) Groundworks and landscaping
a. Any required groundworks, including levelling, drainage and landscaping
b. Edge treatment for safety surfaces
c. Provision of benches and bins as appropriate
4) Fencing
a. Perimeter fencing at a suitable height around the site, with a section of 3m high fencing to shield play equipment from the adjacent football pitch
5) Safety and Compliance
a. All works must meet health and safety regulations, including RoSPA inspection standards upon completion.
b. Contractors must ensure that all materials used are safe, durable and long-lasting. Durability to take into account the coastal location of the site.
c. Provision of maintenance guidelines and guarantees for the equipment.
Timeline: Work is dependent on outcome of funding bids.

Evaluation process
All submitted designs will be evaluated and shortlist the top three based on design, safety, durability and value for money.
