Short description UofG/CON265-2022 Establishment of 5 multi-party framework agreements for the provision of Patent Agency Services in 5 lots Detailed description The University of Galway propose to engage in a competitive process for the establishment of 5 Multi operator frameworks for the provision of Patent Agency Services as follows:
• LOT 1 – Education, Computing, Information Communication Technologies, Software
• LOT 2 – Engineering, Natural Sciences, Materials Science, Physical & Chemical Science
• LOT 3 - Biomedical Sciences - including Medicine & Pharmaceuticals, Medical Devices, Diagnostic & Veterinary Science
• LOT 4 - Energy and Environmental Sciences
• LOT 5 - Life Sciences – Agriculture, Biology, Bioscience, Biotechnology & Foods
The University of Galway Innovation Office is responsible for the protection and management of the University’s Intellectual Property Policy created from its own extensive research activities. The University’s Intellectual Property Policy includes patents, design rights and copyright (including software). The University currently has an active patent portfolio of approximately 110 patent families and typically files 10 to 15 new patent applications per year.
The services required by the University of Galway are drafting, filing and maintenance of patents on behalf of the University of Galway. The University intends to establish Framework Agreements for this purpose.
