Hythe and Dibden Parish Council Orchard Wild Garden was installed in 2012 in partnership with NFDC following the development of Cosworth Drive development.
As part of the play area development, the community were consulted upon extensively and the play area is a result of that consultation. This play area incorporated many ideas for a more natural play area rather than the perceived normal lay out of fence and equipment. By utilising both wooden structures and modern equipment, the first natural play area in Hythe was created.
Since the play area was opened, the area has continued to evolve, however many of the more natural elements such as the wooden play equipment, the felled trees that provide climbing areas and the wooden dens have either come to the end or are coming to the end of their lifespan and as such have or will be removed shortly.
The facility is extremely popular with the community and as a result the Parish Council has committed to provide an interim refurbishment.
Experienced play area installers are invited to tender for the contract.
Hythe and Dibden Parish Council will be seeking the views on submitted designs from the community prior to accepting a tender as a first phase with phase 2 commencing 2027/28.
Tenders are thus invited for the refurbishment of the existing play area on Shore Road Recreation Ground.
Please refer to the 'site information' section of this tender for the background information for the site.
