Description
The United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) invites companies to express their interest in participating in the upcoming bidding exercise for the supply and delivery of bottled drinking water and water dispensers in support of UNAMA. The Contractor will be required to supply and deliver purified drinking water, approximately 34,200 to 38,000 liters per month, in 19-liter (5-gallon) capacity reusable water bottles. Additionally, the contractor will be responsible for supplying and delivering electric hot and cold-water dispensers, free of charge, to accommodate the bottled water at each location. The Contractor will also be required, at times, to supply and deliver 1.5-liter or 0.5-liter non-reusable water bottles. The drinking water must be sourced from a duly licensed local water supplier in Afghanistan. The Contractor shall provide drinking water in accordance with the quality standards listed below: 1. Drinking water is defined as either: - Water intended for human consumption that contains no added ingredients, or - Mineral water containing less than 250 parts per million (ppm) of Total Dissolved Solids (TDS). The water shall be contained in: a) Hermetically sealed PET or polycarbonate plastic containers. b) Durable bottles, unless otherwise specified. c) 19-liter (5 US gallon) bottles, which must be returned to the vendor to comply with industry standards. d) Palletized for easy handling. e) Cling-film wrapped for protection during transportation and storage. 2. The Contractor will be responsible for removing all returnable bottles on a periodic basis, not exceeding three months. Additional Information: The Contractor must provide (supply, deliver, install, and maintain) brand-new electric hot and cold-water dispensers at each location, free of charge. At a minimum, the dispensers should be capable of handling 17- to 20-liter bottles and must be CE certified or hold an equivalent certification. It is expected that the UNOCA location will require up to 80 units, plus an additional 20 units as a contingency. UNAMA may, from time to time during the contract term, request the contractor to supply and deliver additional water dispensers to specified UNAMA locations.rticipate in the upcoming bidding exercise for the supply and delivery of bottled drinking water and water dispensers in support of the United Nations in Afghanistan. The resultant contract may also be used by other UN entities in Afghanistan through a piggybacking arrangement.
