Description
Kilnbridge have secured the HS2 Old Oak Common Station Works Package WP10.2 for construction of the Headhouses and Ancillary Buildings. Part of the scope requires the design, manufacture & installation of 100+ external door sets to numerous satellite buildings around the station complex. Those buildings include the following:
• South Portal
• West Core
• East Core
• Train Crew and Catering Building
• North Portal
• Cycle Hub
• Various smaller vent structures
• DNO interface substation
The package includes a large number of external doors sets and will include a range of different specification and performance criteria such as:
- single, 1.5 and double door sets
- Oversized plant access doors
- Louvred doors
- External envelope doors with Integrated cladding to external face
- Mild steel and Stainless-steel door sets and frames with varied coatings to resist corrosion.
- Vision panels
- Installed to various substrates
- Fire rated doors (Various levels)
- Security rated doors (Various levels)
- Acoustic Rated doors (various levels)
- Weather rated (various levels)
- Integration with the BMS (building management system)
- Doors and hardware that cater for ultimate differential pressure loading
- Provision of all associated hardware, suitable for use in public areas and sub surface
- and all ancillary items where required. This includes detailing all openings including additional supports around the openings. Works include also mock ups, samples and quality benchmarks.
The Sub subcontract works includes the provision of all necessary People, Equipment, Plant and Materials for the design, testing, manufacture and installation of all External doors sets.
The Subsubcontractor will be responsible for progressing the door schedule and associated Stage 4 drawings to be designed for manufacture and installation. This will require submission to, and acceptance from, the Subcontractor, the Contractor's representatives and the Employer to ensure the provided Sub subcontractors design satisfies the intent prior to construction. All in accordance with the Contractors design procedure and technical assistance requirements. The production of mock ups and samples as required for acceptance.
The scope also includes the design, supply, installation, management and removal of any temporary works required to execute the sub subcontract works and the provision of sufficient temporary protection of the doors. The works will also require multiple visits throughout the contract duration from design stage to completion.
Quantity of door sets - circa 90+.
Expected Subsubcontract award Jan 25
Construction is to be carried out over a 2.5 year period commencing in Q1 2026 and completing in late Q2 2028. Multiple visits will be required over this period.
