Longford Connected Public Realm Enhancement Project
Detailed description
The site is located in Longford Town Centre with the site extents spread over two locations; Market Square and pedestrian link from Main Street along Grafton Court, Shopping Centre and Northeast Car Park. The proposed works comprise of the following;
- Urban Realm improvements, some works adjacent to N63 and N5 national routes
- the carriageway to the north of Market Square and along Grafton Court will become shared surfaces paved with asphalt.
- Creation of more pedestrianised feel to the town by widening footpaths
- Removal of some car-parking at the Shopping Centre
- All pedestrianised areas will be resurfaced with granite paviours
- Installation of public lighting
- Re-location of some underground services and utilities.
- New surface water drainage network along Grafton Court.
