The University of Sheffield wishes to invite tenders for a Portable X-ray diffractometer on behalf of the Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre, The Machining Group at Catcliffe, South Yorkshire.
Scope of Requirement
The AMRC is undertaking research in the non-destructive detection of machined surface integrity features. Within the facility, existing portable residual stress measurement equipment has been used for successfully detecting anomalous machined surfaces non-destructively using a novel method developed at the AMRC. To further develop the technique for inspection in industry, the need to develop and install a portable X-ray diffractometer within a CNC machining centre to facilitate in-process measurements has been identified.
