Please note this is a Market Engagement Event, not a Tender Opportunity.
Surrey County Council (SCC) is looking to further develop its Independent Alternative Provision Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS) and would like to hear from organization's who have experience in this area of provision. This is not an invitation to tender.
Following the previous Market Engagement Workshops and events in 2023/2024 and culminating to the first successful opening of the DPS and round two going live in December 2024, Surrey County Council warmly invites you to take part in our Market Engagement Event for potential and existing providers of Independent Alternative provision. This includes Non-Maintained Independent (NMI) provision who may wish to contribute to Surrey County Council's Independent Alternative Provision (AP) community.
The event will be held on Wednesday 4th December 2024 at 1.00pm - 2.00pm.
The Market Engagement event will be running differently than the previous two rounds and the purpose of this event will be to primarily provide hints/tips/areas to consider around the next tender window, based on the learning from evaluating Round One and Two.
In addition this will be an opportunity to:
• Provide information on registering to the e-tendering system Proactis and share resources to support Providers with using the system;
• Outline next steps in the procurement process and proposed timetable
• An opportunity to answer questions from potential providers
Independent Alternative Provision is provision largely for one-to-one support, children and young people who require specialist intervention (in many cases but not exclusively for their additional needs) which in many cases is delivered in the home or in the community with the support of / or at the request of families.
This may include:
• Tutoring (QTS qualified and non QTS qualified)
• Specialist teachers
• Services supporting education
• Community based service(s) (for example, equine care)
• Registered therapy (such as physiotherapy, speech & language or Occupational)
• Post-16 Support Services & pathways
Any interested organisation or consortium with the experience, capability and capacity to deliver Independent Alternative Provision services as laid out in this PIN notice may register for the Market Engagement Event. The Commissioning organisations welcome collaborations and partnerships organised within a lead provider model.
Aligned to the SEND green paper, Independent AP should be seen as an important part of the overall education support offer for children and young people that require it.
The SEND green paper can be found here: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/send-and-ap-green-paper-responding-to-the-consultation
