THIS IS NOT A CALL FOR COMPETITION
Derbyshire County Council are leading on the next D2N2 Children in Care Framework which is due to commence on 1st February 2026. D2N2 is a collaboration of four authorities: Derbyshire; Derby City; Nottinghamshire and Nottingham City. The current D2N2 Children in Care framework began in February 2020 and is due to expire on January 31st 2026.
The vision and aims of the current framework will remain the same within the next framework and are as follows:
• Local provision for local children which enables sustainable placements and positive outcomes
• Right placement; right location; right time; right price
• Develop relationships with providers to encourage investment in the market locally
• We are keen to ensure all stakeholders are able contribute to the new arrangements from the outset
• Greater flexibility of provision and commissioning, and explore alternative contract models
The current framework is for fostering and residential providers and this continues to be the intended purpose of the future framework too.
