Rutland is a Unitary Authority in England, located in the East Midlands between Leicester and Peterborough, with a population of approximately c40,476 and is the smallest county in England. The county has two market towns Oakham and Uppingham who make up approximately half of the overall population, with 54 villages spread across a rural landscape. The majority of the population (97.1%) are White British and White Irish. With the remainder being Asian, Mixed or Multiple Ethnic Group, Black, and Other Ethnic Group respectively. Rutland has an older population with almost a quarter aged over 65 years, compared to 17.9% nationally. The Armed Forces community including those serving and their families, reservists and veterans make up approximately 20% of Rutland's population.
The Council wishes to secure the provision of block beds within a number of suitably experienced providers who will, between them, provide an agreed number of residential, nursing and respite beds to older people in the County.
Rutland has an ageing population and requires the beds to meet the needs of our older people. The Council is seeking to contract with more than one provider to establish a level of choice for service users and to ensure a range of provision. The provision commissioned will:
- Improve quality of life for individuals
- Reduce health and wellbeing risks for individuals
- Maintain individual's health and independence for as long as possible
- Safeguard individuals
Block beds will be purchased at the Council's weekly rates set out in the tender documentation.
Bidders are encouraged to apply on the Eastmids Tenders e-procurement portal, searching under reference number DN764680. The deadline for responses is 12 noon 7th April 2025.
Follow the instructions given in the description or the more information section.
