SP29: Temporary Weatherproofing Structures: required to weatherproof structural openings in the Old Oak Common Station concrete slab:
Scope: For a Subcontractor to design and install temporary weatherproofing measures to protect the Works, within the Working Areas. The tenderer may propose to take on the design component of the scope, or the full scope of work.
There are multiple structural openings in the ground level concrete slab for the main Station build, these openings require temporary weatherproofing. The temporary weatherproofing structures will allow other trades to safely complete their works in a waterproof and wind protected environment. The weatherproofing measures are likely to utilize a proprietary system/scaffold protection unit, wrapped in a waterproof Monarflex/Polyester LDPE sheeting, this will keep rain and wind from disrupting the follow-on works/trades.
The covered protection units will be utilized in the central station zone, where there are 12No escalators and 12No lift shaft openings in the structural floor slab.
The Subcontractor is to price for all temporary works designs, design development & design approvals, onsite installation, rental (estimated to be 12 to 36months), 7-day inspections of the structures and final dismantling/removal off site. The Subcontractor is to include adequate kentledge/anchorage for the system, ensuring the design complies with all HS2, British Standards, NASC codes of practice and any other legally applicable technical standards for the design of Temporary Structures.
An example of a Haki weatherproof system (HakiTec 750), other such systems may be proposed by the tenderer.
