    Description

This tender opportunity notice for Sustainable and Estates Facilities Solutions are covered under the Public Contracts Regulation (PCR) 2015.

NHS Commercial Solutions is seeking to procure, through a framework agreement, a panel of suitably experienced and qualified organisations to provide expert guidance and services to NHS organisations to assist them in delivering their commitments to a greener NHS and improving the healthcare environments.

Every NHS organisation is required to publish a Carbon Reduction Plan. Many of these plans include commitments to reduce carbon emissions in the organisation's built environments.

The Value at Risk to manageable assets in the UK, if we maintain a below 2 degrees of warming by 2045, is estimated to be more than £1 billion per annum, but we must prepare for warming up to 4 degrees. This includes increasing actions to reach net zero and increasing actions for resilience to the warming world.

The purpose of the framework agreement is to offer industry specific opportunities for climate action, whilst building resilience to climate change, to enable the continuation of the delivery of healthcare services.

The opportunities the agreement offers for healthcare which, in the context of the UN Sustainable Development Goals, represents the coming together of subject matter expertise, societal demands and climate action to create a more sustainable, inclusive, and future proof path to economic growth, health and well-being to support strategic initiatives of high impact for the benefit of business, people and the planet.
